Pat McAfee's exciting side Concafa SC electrified crowds at the second iteration of The Soccer Tournament in Cary, NC this year, but they are headed home after a narrow 1-0 defeat to Indiana alumni side Hoosier Army in the quarterfinals.
With McAfee himself injured aftersustaining a hip flexor injury in a previous match, Concafa started well and controlled play through the first half, but fell apart after halftime as the legs began to tire.
Hoosier Army, who entered the match undefeated in the tournament through five games, took command of the match after halftime and were incredibly unlucky not to score earlier, pummeling Thomas Sanner's goal and hitting the post at least three times.
With the match scoreless through the 40 minutes of regulation, it entered Target Score Time level, meaning the next goal would see a team advance. Hoosier Army continued barnstorming up front, and finally broke through on a goal byAustin Panchot just a few minutes into sudden death.
