Every now and then you get reminded of some the good people that follow these ole Blues.
Yesterday we had the pleasure of taking a trip and spending part of an afternoon with Billy Kooser in the hills of PA .
It's pretty neat every once and a while hearing some of the history and stories/pictures of the hounds long dead that we have read about in Full cry or our read about in the blue books years ago or seen in pedigrees with crosses now surfacing time and time again....such as ole Banjo, ole Dandy and Fly.
It's nice for some of us folks who live far from the larger population of the coon hound world to finally be putting a face to the name of some of the pioneers that have followed certain hounds that have helped shape the hounds of today .
anyway , the visit made for good conversation on the way back up north ,,,,and made a long drive just a little shorter .
It would be hard not to enjoy a visit with Billy Kooser and the enthusiasm he has for these ole blues.

Billy
is a good guy... We go back to the 70's as friends.. I owned Fly's sister, her name was Glow. Hunted with Fly and Glow by themselves at 5 months old. They could tree coon as well as any 3 year old out there, wound up bringing Glow home that night from Grayson Paul's house. He wouldn't part with Fly at the time... Good thing, because she wound up at Billy's and Bluetick History was made !! Stuff outside goes back to the Dandy x Fly cross several times and I'm blessed to have em !!!.....
Glad you had a good time at Billy's place !!

Thanks guys,For all the positive comments. I sure do appreciate them! It is so nice reminicing about those ole blue dogs that are gone now but live in the pedigrees and genes of some of the best blueticks of today. Dave and Dennis-I enjoyed the visit. And am glad that Bandit is fitting in. It was hard for me to let him go but I know that he is being hunted like he should be by houndsmen that like me, truly appreciate a "good one" ---- Blue of course! Thanks for the post and the pics of Bandit and Ringo. Take care, Billy

They're sounding good Dave.Ole Tree Daddy was a good one and marked alot of his pups and I'm seeing alot of him in his grandpups now also.Matt Turner and I had a lot of enjoyable nights at the lake with those Tree Daddy dogs.He was a very special hound and a dominate reproducer.

out for a Rip
Yes Tom the Tree Daddy stuff works good up here too for this area . They suit us . Looks to me like the " Billy the Kid hound is going to carry on the family tradition and be the maker of some nice coondogs too .
Matt's done a great job with his line .
We got out for a Rip again last night and the Bandit hound seemed to be feelin it .
We have had some good running coon past week or so ,,,
Here is a few pics of Bandit on the last tree . Bandit actually put it over on old Ringo for the first time.....
And I think he was letting the whole world know .
